Meetings: Meetings are generally 10:00 – 11:30 a.m. every third Saturday of the month from September through June. Please check the calendar. Meetings are in the Project Room of the Nova Scotia Museum of Natural History, 1747 Summer Street, Halifax. YNC members may stay unaccompanied by an adult, or parents/guardians may stay and observe the meeting.
Field Trips: Field trips are usually 1 - 4 p.m. every fourth Sunday of the month. Please check the calendar. Car pooling can be arranged from the Nova Scotia Museum of Natural History parking lot (1747 Summer Street, Halifax). Parents/guardians are welcome. Contact the YNC coordinator, Laura, at yncns@yahoo.ca to tell her if you will be attending, and to get directions to the field trip location.
Be prepared for the field trip! Plan for all possible weather conditions. Items you might want to bring:
- Water
- Food
- Sunscreen
- Insect repellant
- Rain gear
- Appropriate footwear and socks
- Binoculars
- Field guides
- Notebook and pencil
- Specimen collection bags or containers
- Your enthusiasm!
