The YNC has received funding to hire a full time coordinator for 2 years. This is a huge success! New chapters of the YNC will be created in communities across Nova Scotia (and the Halifax chapter will continue to be awesome too).
September 18, 2009 – Let the 4th year begin!
This September marks the 4th year of operation for the YNC in Nova Scotia. And we have yet another year of fantastic nature experiences for you! Please see our event calendar for the fall lineup of events. Also, please note: we will still be meeting at the Museum, even thought the upper floor is closed for renovations.
The YNC is fun, free, and always looking for new members… so spread the word about the good thing we have going here! New families are invited to email the Coordinator at yncns[at]yahoo.ca, or simply show up at a YNC meeting at the Museum.
June 10, 2009 – See you at the AGM!
The Annual General Meeting of the YNC will take place at the Museum of Natural History at 10:00am on June 10. At our AGM our board of directors is voted in, and financial and organizational reports are given. Families are asked to send one adult representative. Kids get to play awesome nature games outside on the lawn!
August 21, 2008 – YNC starts its third year!
There is no end to the fascinating things we are learning about nature at the YNC! As such, we have a great lineup of guest speakers and field trips for the YNC’s third year of operation. Feeling a little “bogged” down? Come to the September 20th YNC meeting and learn about the Wonderful Wetlands all around us. Getting “starry-eyed”? Join the YNC for a trip to the Dalhousie University planetarium (tentatively planned for early 2009)! There’s something for everyone at the YNC. New members and returning members are always welcome.
