10:00 am - 11:30 am
Dr. Todd Smith will talk to us about invertebrates and take us on an invertebrate safari through the Irving Centre grounds. We’ll explore the world of slugs, snails, worms, spiders, isopods, as well as insects. We will be exploring the field habitats, pond habitats, stream habitats and forest habitats on the Irving grounds and the nearby trails; please bring appropriate foot ware.
Meet at 10 am at the front entry of the Irving Environmental Centre on the Acadia University Campus, Wolfville. https://goo.gl/maps/dvyxX8ScGuM2 From there we will go upstairs to the K.C Irving Acadia Room (Top Floor) of the Irving Centre for a short slide show and look at some organisms under the microscope before we head out doors to explore invertebrates in the various ecosystem types in the gardens.
