Are you 10-15 years old?
Come join our new YNC Nature Guardians Program this fall. Emily LeGrand is our Program Coordinator and has done a great job organizing some experiences that will develop your naturalists skills and explore important questions through adventure and activities.
We will become experts in native plant identification and their ecosystems and explore their use in the urban environment We will explore at Susies Lake and the Mainland Commons, and take part in urban native landscaping projects at the Saint Marys Boat Club Living Shorelines Project and the rain gardens at the Killiam Library.
Along the way we will collect native seeds, participate in native plantings, monitor wildlife activity and learn how to assess and map a site using the Yard Map program.
More information on session meeting locations and supplies needed will be provided before the first session.
We do not require parents or guardians to attend with the youth but if you are interested in attending and helping as a volunteer please let us know.
Dates for the sessions will be Sept 26, October 3, 17, 24, 31 from 2-5pm
The sessions are free. Contact Robin at firstname.lastname@example.org or 455-5643 to register.
