The Bluff Trail in Five Bridge Lakes Wilderness Area is fast becoming a very popular trail. That’s great… except that can have certain impacts on the trail if not all users are treating it well. On this field trip we will learn from some of the trail stewards about the challenges of caring for the trail, and we will learn about trail ethics that can guide all of our actions when we want to explore nature in a low-impact way.
While on the trail, we will also learn about some basic survival tips that may help YOU if you ever get lost in the woods. These practical tips can save your life!
Please send a quick email to Karen at ynchalifax at yncns dot ca if you plan on attending the hike. Dress for 3 hours of being outside, and wear appropriate footwear (rugged, waterproof, and warm, depending on the weather). You might want to bring a notebook or camera to record any nature observation, and for any trail use and survival tips.
