Otter Ponds Demonstration Forest is a place for all Nova Scotians to learn about forest ecology and the sustainable management of our native Acadian Forest. On our field trip we’ll see the Acadian Forest, and learn about how timber production can be compatible with the protection of the full range of other forest values and services.
Otter Ponds is near Mooseland, NS, which is about a 1 hour 45 min drive from Halifax. This is further than most of our field trip, but about once a year we do like to do a further afield field trip to go somewhere really special. And because it is further away, we will spend longer at the site while we are there. Detailed driving directions will be given to those who register.
