Saturday, December 21, 2013
6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Description

Join the Berwick Young Naturalists on the longest night of the year for a campfire and short night walk away from streetlights to gaze up at the starts (if the sky is clear). We will meet at the leader’s house (Marina and Nick) located at 424 Bentley Rd. in South Berwick at 6pm on the 21st of December. We will learn about the solar year on Earth and other planets and what the Solstice is. Please bring the following items with you:

  • Flashlight (for the walk – preferably one with a red light setting)
  • Mug (for hot chocolate)
  • Sleeping Bag or old blanket(to lie down on the snow and look up)
  • a sit-upon (or just use your sleeping bag)
  • Appropriate warm winter clothing (snow-pants, hats, mits etc.)
  • Any night sky field guides you may have but I have a few

See you then!
