10:00 am - 12:00 pm
You are invited to our second Solstice Winter Bird Count at a wild bird feeding station. Come to my house (424 Bentley Rd. in South Berwick) at 10am. I will add the data we collect to the Audubon 115th Christmas Bird Count http://birds.audubon.org/christmas-bird-count. We could travel around to other feeding stations in the area. If you know of anyone else who has an active feeding station please let me know.
Activities for this event:
- 10:00am – bundle up for a short hike around the trails to see what birds are around – if there is snow on the ground (and I hope there is) feel free to bring skis or snowshoes and I will see if I can borrow the ones at the Recreation Centre in Berwick for those who do not have any.
- 10:45am – Making Wild Bird feeding ball for you to take home.
- 11:15am – Counting Birds at the Feeding Station. Hot Chocolate too!
ALSO… Join the Blomidon Naturalists in the evening for their Solstice night walk and Bonfire. Follow this link for more details — http://www.blomidonnaturalists.ca/node/532
