Kentville Ravine Hike BERYNC June 15 2013

The Berwick YNC spent 2 hours in the Kentville Ravine on Saturday June 15, 2013 from 10am to 12pm. The day was beautifully sunny, the birds were singing and Elderkin Brook was bubbling its way cheerfully down to the Cornwallis River. The kids were excited to splash in the cool clear water and discovered that there were little fish zipping¬†between the¬†deep pools under logs in the brook. We also saw mushrooms and salamanders living among the rotten wood along the damp river banks. It was very exciting to see the baby Bald Eagle in the nest! One of our members brought a spotting scope and she even took a photo through her lens!. Check out the pictures below. What a magical place… we are so lucky to have a natural place like the Kentville Ravine that is so easy to get to.
